Transitional Kindergarten
Hi! My name is Lizzy Rentner and I am so excited to be joining the San Clemente Christian School community as a TK Teacher. I recently moved from Portland, OR, where I have spent the last 5 years teaching Montessori Pre-K/Kindergarten, 4th Grade, Special Education for 1st-3rd graders, and completing my Masters of Art in Teaching from George Fox University. I was able to complete my BA in Sociology at the University of Redlands, where I met my now husband, Karsten!
I had the privilege of growing up in Minnesota and attending a Christian school from elementary through high school, an experience that deeply shaped my faith and education. Throughout my life, I have had many connections to San Clemente. My mom and her family grew up in San Clemente, allowing me to visit often throughout my childhood. When I was attending the University of Redlands, my husband and I enjoyed visiting for weekends. At the end of my time at Redlands, Karsten and I took one last trip to San Clemente, where he surpised me with a proposal! We are so excited to be closing the circle with San Clemente and begin building deeper roots in this community.
Inside the classroom, you will find me loving on the kids, focusing on hands-on learning and student-led conversations, and encouraging the kids to grow academically, spiritually, and social-emotionally. Outside of the classroom, I look forward to finding the best iced caramel latte South Orange County can offer, hikes and walks with my dog, Lulu, and spending time with my family and friends. I am so grateful to spend this time with these students!
