Hello! My name is Sophia Stecker and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! I grew up and spent the majority of my life in San Clemente. I attended Point Loma Nazarene University, where I received my bachelor’s degree in Cross-Disciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Child Development. I then attended Cal-State Fullerton where I recieved my Elementary Teaching Credential. After receiving my credentials, I worked as a long-term substitute, a substitute teacher, and an instructional aide for grades 1–5. Additionally, I love teaching Sunday school at my church, something I have been blessed to do for many years. Teaching for me has always been about creating a safe space for children to come and learn and foster relationships with myself and one another. I believe in not only creating a successful academic student, but also a successful human being, citizen, and friend. I now also get to include the Lord in my everyday teaching, which I am incredibly thrilled about. Outside of teaching, I love to read, sing (whether this be in worship or part of a choir), go for long walks on the beach, and spend time with my wonderful husband and family. My hopes for this year are that your child will grow academically and, most importantly, in their love for Jesus. I am so excited to work alongside you this year!
